First Impressions OK, call me fan boy but the first thing I loved about this device was that it has an anodized aluminum finish that matches my MacBook Pro and Thunderbolt Display finishes perfectly. I’m a big believer in creating a work environment that flows together and this device immediately fit in with its surroundings.
Performance This really couldn’t be easier, but for the sake of doing a well rounded review I’ll explain how easy it is to use this USB Hub. You simply select a location on the top, bottom or side of your LCD display and adjust the hand screw on the back of the hub to get a snug fit. There is padding on both sides of the clamp to protect your device from pressure and scratching. You then plug in the included USB 3.0 cable to an open port on your computer or USB equipped display and you are in business. Click to Enlarge. Even with the extra USB ports that my Thunderbolt Display gives me, I find myself frequently reaching behind the display to add and remove devices. The Sabrent Mountable 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub for LCD Displays or Desks has now become a permanent fixture on my desk because it looks great, works great and most importantly, it got some cable clutter out of my life. I would recommend this hub to anyone needing a mountable solution for home or office. It has an MSRP of $39.99.

If you're just looking for something to expand your port options for connection and charging but don't want to shell out the big bucks, Lenovo's USB-C hub is a low-cost alternative. This is not a Thunderbolt 3 supported hub, but it will connect and work with your 2016 or later MacBook Pro, just in a slightly limited capacity.
If you're stuck with a MacBook that only has USB-C ports, you're not stuck using only USB-C accessories. You also don't have to be stuck with a dongle. A solid, fast-transfer USB-C hub is a worthy investment. I recommend because it'll solve all your cable needs and is the best option for most people. This post may contain affiliate links.
